My daughter didn't start getting serious about her photography business until she had a decent (like $700) Cannon camera. You could start by offering to do a few free shoots for friends with your small camera and get some good testimonials that way.

How would I go about finding a way to start a photography business. I don't have a big special camera, I just have a small samsung one. Would that still work?
Thanks for your time. :)

Good question Joshua! I think if you are producing a product (like a custom knife), you should charge a set price. If you are doing a job for someone (like black smithing), you should charge by the hour and give the customer an idea of how long the project will take, such as 2-4 hours and then warn them if it takes longer than you estimated.
Also check out your competition and see what they charge for a job or per hour. Be bold and ask them. Most small business owners will tell you their prices.
Hope that helps!

Praveen, Since I don't know you, I cannot tell tou which ideas are best for you!
Consider your skills, talents and interests. Then look around and see a need that you can meet.
My book Starting a Micro Business and the Micro Business for Teens Workbook both have helpful information is brainstorming and finding an idea that works for you.

Marisa,
I think making a blog is easy. My first blog was at HomeschoolBlogger. It is free and was pretty easy to learn. A lot of homeschooled teenagers create blogs there. Visit their Library to get started.

Then I learned Wordpress and now have several blogs there. It's free and if you Google "Wordpress tutorials," you can learn a lot. There are even several YouTube videos to show you how.

Have fun blogging!
