Christen,

I visited the CreateSpace Community and found a teenager asking the same question. It seems that CreateSpace has no problem with minors publishing books with them, but there may be a problem with how your teenager will bet paid.
https://www.createspace.com/en/community/message/51039

One father ran into problems. CreateSpace would only issue royalty payments to the father, not to the teenage son. It was very frustrating to the father. Read his story here:
https://www.createspace.com/en/community/message/69077

Create Space's policy states:

Minors and Purchasing
If you are under 18, you may only purchase items from us or our Members with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

My daughter is interested in this idea. I've been checking out createspace and am not sure if it is available to minors. Do you know?

Joshua,

Try calling the sales tax department and explain the problem with the website. Perhaps you can apply by paper.

Ask your state sales tax department what to do about adding your parent as an owner.

I don't like putting down their name as owner, because it's really your business, not theirs.

Dear Mrs. Topp,
I am sixteen years old and I am starting a knife and jewelry making business. In my town, there are shops in the square where they will sell an artisans products on consignment. The artisan needs a sales tax permit, however. I tried to apply for one and when the part came up for the owner's information I put down all the required information and clicked "submit." The site gave me an error and said that I needed to be at least eighteen years of age in order to apply. Should I, with my parents permition, set them as the owner? Or what would you suggest?

My daughter didn't start getting serious about her photography business until she had a decent (like $700) Cannon camera. You could start by offering to do a few free shoots for friends with your small camera and get some good testimonials that way.

How would I go about finding a way to start a photography business. I don't have a big special camera, I just have a small samsung one. Would that still work?
Thanks for your time. :)
