As a kid, Massachusetts teen Matt Triest remembers wanting a place where kids could create art or make projects during the summer months. Matt decided to open his own business to fill a need for his community. Kids Creative Corner is a summer business where local kids can make crafts, like Sand Art, or buy small toys to use on the beach.  Matt accredits his success to drafting a business plan to outline his goals. This plan worked; the business is a favorite for families to visit. He recently ended his first season and plans to continue the business throughout high school and college. Matt’s dream of a children’s store in his hometown became a successful micro business!

Your great idea can become a micro business, too. Check out my book series, Micro Business for Teens, to get started!
