Today’s world is saturated with all kinds of social media – from Facebook to Pinterest to blogging platforms, like the one you’re reading now! This is a great place for the tech-savvy teen to find a business. Consider 14-year-old Lane Sutton. Lane has always had an entrepreneurial mind, starting micro businesses in his early years like a newspaper business or gift shop from his home. After reading about the impact a small business can have by using social media, Lane was interested. He started researching different forms of social media and became proficient in each. After sharing his findings and giving a few tips to an author, Lane had found something great. He started his own social marketing coaching business! Lane offers his services to business leaders looking to ramp up their online presence, website, and blogs. He offers tips to bring their product or service in front of more people. And his tips are popular. He has currently seven paying clients, and is looking to continue to expand his client base. Lane also frequently speaks at various tech conferences, unheard of for a business owner so young. While ultimately Lane is running his micro business to earn money for college, he hopes to one day start his own technology company. Until then, he is making complicated tech concepts simple for the everyday business owner.
