It seems that a micro business can pop up in the most ordinary of places, like a grandmother’s kitchen. At least, this is the story of then-14-year-old Fraser! Fraser learned at a young age the secret to his grandmother’s outstanding jam recipe. Having mastered the recipe, he knew a business could come from such a product. He soon developed SuperJam, a business selling 100% fruit jam, naturally sweetened in a variety of fruity flavors. The idea was a hit, and Fraser’s micro business isn’t so “micro” any more! He now sells jam in dozens of countries, having bottled over one million jars for sale. And his product list is expanding. Fraser now markets a line of jam cookbooks and aprons featuring his product. But that’s not all: SuperJam is looking to expand into the honey business shortly. What can we learn from Fraser? Utilize those tools you may already have, like a family member’s recipe. It could lead to your own micro business. Now that’s something sweet!
